Volunteering
What is a Volunteer?
A volunteer is where an individual offers unpaid help to benefit of others like organisations and individuals (who are not ‘originally’ family or friends), which are not for gain or profit.
Volunteers at LCIL/REDP are involved team members, who provide real benefit to the organisation. LCIL/REDP encourages disabled people to volunteer as it is a user led organisation, with board and staff members being disabled people also.
LCIL/REDP values the involvement of volunteers and we can offer volunteers:
· Work experience
· To be briefed, inducted and supported in their volunteer roles
· To be given the proper tools and equipment to perform their roles
· An open and friendly environment to carry out roles
· Training and development opportunities
· Making new friends
· Flexible hours and conditions to suit each volunteer
· Out of pocket expenses such as travel expenses that are agreed with the Volunteer Coordinator
·
· To be treated equally and not to be given the worst jobs
If you are interested in volunteering or you just have a few questions and would like to know more about becoming a volunteer please contact the Volunteer Coordinator for further information.
