Effective Recruitment Practices

Length of programme: minimum 1 day

In the UK there are 10 million disabled people with an annual spending power of £80 billion. It makes good business sense to be a good employer of disabled people and including disabled people in the way you deliver services. By understanding disability and making the necessary changes in your organisation, you can:

  • Attract and retain able staff
  • Increase staff morale and productivity
  • Use resources more effectively
  • Attract more customers
  • Meet legal requirements

This one-day practical programme will look at:

  • Barriers in advertising
  • How recruitment techniques can challenge negative assumptions
  • Effective appointments
  • The critical role of induction

By attending this programme you can explore and challenge your own views that may have led to inappropriate decision making and lost opportunities. We will also explore the finances available to support employees and employers in taking on and retaining disabled people.
