Equality and Diversity Partnership

Developed in 1999 as an idea between two organisations, Leicestershire Centre for Integrated Living and The Race Equality Council saw value in working together. Whilst their issues were clearly different, it became clear on many occasions that the same doors needed to be broken down before any change could take place.

Today, the Equality and Diversity Partnership includes voluntary sector members representing the issues of equality that cover:

  • Disability
  • Gender
  • Race
  • Religion / belief
  • Sexual orientation

Representatives from Leicester City Council, Leicester City PCT and Leicestershire Constabulary also join us.

The partnership works on a range of issues including responding to requests from the Leicester Partnership.
