Premises

Three photos of LCIL building and entranceDirections to Leicestershire Centre for Integrated Living

LCIL is located on the second floor at 5-9 Upper Brown Street, part of the Phoenix Yard complex. Entrance is through an archway about halfway down the street, just past Watson’s Restaurant and across the road from the Phoenix Arts Centre.

On entering the archway, use the 2nd door on the left which is opened by pressing a large button to the left-hand side of the door. The door opens in an outward direction, do not stand directly in front of the door as the sensors will detect that you are in the way of the door and will not open as this could cause injury.

Inside

On entering the building, stairs leading to the LCIL office are immediately on the right. You can also use either of the two lifts, which are positioned to the left of the stairs.

Both lifts are fitted with Braille signs positioned below the lift buttons. The buttons are fitted in a horizontal position and are larger than average to enable easier operation. A voice announcer is also fitted. The top row of buttons gives access to another building. The lower set, positioned just above the handrail include the buttons providing access to the LCIL.

On leaving the lift at the second floor, turn right. LCIL reception is through an automatic door operated by pressing a large button to the right of the door. This door is fitted with a sensor and will not open if you are standing in front of it. You will hear a noise as the door opens and will start to close after a period of time.

Facilities

The Centre, as well as housing the administrative functions of the organisation, has fully equipped training rooms of various sizes, together with rooms for private consultation.

A meeting room can accommodate around 12 people around a table. A conference room (12 x 5.5m) holds 28 people in a boardroom style and 60 people theatre style. Both rooms are available for hire.
