By Train (London Road Station)
Leicester is on the Midland Main Line and trains run regularly between Leicester and London (takes just over an hour), Derby Nottingham, Sheffield and Coventry. The Station is approximately 1/2 mile from the centre.
If walking, turn right on leaving the station entrance and cross the road to Granby Street. Continue along Granby Street until you reach the traffic lights on the corner of Belvoir Street. Turn left at this junction and continue along the street until you reach the Leicester City Council High Rise office known as New Walk Centre to your left.
Cross the road using the lights on your right to the central reservation and then cross at the lights on the left of the reservation onto Newarke Street. Continue to walk along Newarke Street with the road to your right and heading to the Phoenix Arts Centre. Upper Brown Street is the first junction on your left and LCIL is located half way down this street on the right of this road and through the archway.
By Bus

By Car
As LCIL is located next to the Phoenix Arts Centre, the area is well sign posted by the brown places of interest signs. It is advisable to follow these signs for ease of access.
From the M69, M1 Junction 21 and A47 (Hinckley Road) West of Leicester
Leaving the motorway follow the road signs to the centre of Leicester, along Narborough Road. This is initially a dual carriageway merging after approx. one mile into two way traffic. At the end of Narborough Road turn right onto Hinckley Road (A47) and follow the brown signs to the Phoenix Arts Centre around the Holiday Inn.
From A46 North of Leicester
Follow the city centre signs straight along Belgrave Road. Go over the first flyover and then turn right at the roundabout, follow signs for A594 Central Ring Road. Go under the underpass in the right hand lane and follow the road round to the left. You are now on Newarke Street. Take the first turning on the right onto Upper Brown Street.
From the A6 South of Leicester
Follow the city centre signs along London Road. Go straight on at the roundabout then take the left filter at the next traffic lights onto Granville Street and Regent Road past De Montfort Hall. Go straight on past three sets of traffic lights. At the crossroads go over Welford Road, staying in the right hand lane onto Oxford Street. Phoenix Arts Centre is well signposted from here using the brown signs.
From the A47 East of Leicester
Follow the city centre signs along Uppingham Road. At the roundabout turn right onto the A594 Central Ring Road. Go over the flyover onto Vaughan Way, past three sets of traffic lights. Go under the underpass in the right hand lane and follow the road round to the left. You are now on Newarke Street. Take the first turning on the right onto Upper Brown Street.
Parking
There is limited on-street parking for Blue Badge holders on Upper Brown Street. Newarke Street car park is located 50 metres from the LCIL office. The entrance is located by driving past the LCIL Office and turning left onto York Road.
There are designated parking spaces for blue badge holders on the ground floor and level 1 areas. Both floors provide level access to the street. Parking is free for drivers and passengers with a badge providing they show their badge and ticket to the attendant’s desk on level 1 before leaving. Your ticket will be exchanged to allow you to exit the car park.
