By Car
As LCIL is located next to Newarke Street car park, follow the signs for parking in the south zone (Newarke Street car park)
From the M69 and the M1 junction 21
As you come off the motorway you will come to a dual carriageway. At the end of this dual carriageway you will come to a roundabout where you will need to take the second exit onto another dual carriageway (Narborough Road South). At the end of the dual carriageway is a set of traffic lights, you need to go straight ahead onto Narborough Road. Half way down Narborough Road you will come to a set of traffic lights where you need to turn right onto Upperton Road. At the roundabout go straight ahead onto Walnut Street, and at the set of traffic lights at the end of the road you need to turn left onto Aylestone Road keeping in the left hand lane. Once you have gone past the Hospital on your left hand side move into the right hand lane (A594 South), staying in the right hand lane, you will then come to a set of traffic lights on the corner of Newarke Street, Upper Brown Street is the first road on your right. Our office is located in phoenix yard, across the street from the grey building (Leicester College), and through the archway. Go through the automatic door on your left and take any lift or the stairs to the 2nd floor.
From the A46 north of Leicester
Head southwest on the A6 for approximately 2 miles. You then need to take the A50 exit towards M1North/ Coalville/ Groby/ Glenfield. You will come to another roundabout where you need the middle lane and go straight ahead. At the end of this road you will come to another roundabout you need the middle lane and go straight ahead at the end of this road you will come to a set of traffic lights, you will need the middle lane to go straight across onto Woodgate. Along here you will see a sign for city centre parking you will nee to follow signs for south zone parking. When you come to the end of Woodgate you will need to turn right onto Vaughan Way. You will need to get into the right hand lane to go under the underpass, keeping to the right hand lane the road. You will then come to a set of traffic lights on the corner of Newarke Street, Upper Brown Street is the first road on your right. Go through the automatic door on your left and take any lift or the stairs to the 2nd floor.
From the A6 South of Leicester
Head northwest on Harborough Road/A6, you will then come to a roundabout where you need to take the second exit onto Leicester Road. At the end of the road you will come to another roundabout where you need to take the second exit onto London Road. At the bottom of London Road you will come to a set of traffic lights where you need to go straight ahead and keep to the left hand lane as you need to turn onto Granby Street. At the traffic lights you need to turn left onto Belvoir Street. At the end of this road you need to turn left onto Welford Road, keep to the right hand side, you need to turn right onto Carlton Street and turn right at the end onto Oxford Street. Staying in the right hand lane, you will then come to a set of traffic lights on the corner of Newarke Street and Upper Brown Street is the first road on your right. Our office is located in phoenix yard, across the street from the grey building (Leicester College), and through the archway. Go through the automatic door on your left and take any lift or the stairs to the 2nd floor.
From the A47 East of Leicester
Head East onto Uppingham Road/A47. You will be on this road for approximately three miles. At the end of the road you will come to a roundabout where you need to take the fourth exit onto Saint Mathews Way. Get into the right hand lane to take you over the flyover, and continue to follow the road signs for the A594 along Vaughan Way. You will need to get into the right hand lane and go under the underpass, keeping to the right hand lane. You will then come to a set of traffic lights on the corner of Newarke Street, Upper Brown Street is the first road on your right. Our office is located in phoenix yard, across the street from the grey building (Leicester College), and through the archway. Go through the automatic door on your left and take any lift or the stairs to the 2nd floor.
Parking
There is limited on-street parking for blue badge holders on Upper Brown Street. Newarke Street car park is located 50 meters from LCIL’s office. The entrance to the car park is located by driving past our office and taking the first left onto York Road. There are parking spaces for Blue Badge holders on the ground floor and level 1 area, they both provide level access onto the street. Parking for drivers with a Blue Badge is free providing they show their badge to the parking attendant on level 1 before you leave to go home. Your ticket will be exchanged to allow you to exit the car park.
By Train (London Road Station)
Leicester is on the Midland Main Line and trains run regularly between Leicester and London (takes approximately 1 hour 15 minutes), Derby, Nottingham, Sheffield and Coventry. The station is approximately half a mile from our office. You can get a taxi from outside the station.
If walking, turn right on leaving the station and cross the road to Granby Street. Continue to walk along Granby Street until you reach the traffic lights on the corner of Belvoir Street. Turn left at this junction and continue along this street until you reach the Leicester City Council offices, this is a high rise building also known as New Walk Centre it will be on your left hand side.
Cross the road to your right using the lights to get to the central reservation. Then cross the lights to your left and this will take you onto Newarke Street, and Upper Brown Street is the first road on your left. Our office is located in phoenix yard, across the street from the grey building (Leicester College), and through the archway. Go through the automatic door on your left and take any lift or the stairs to the 2nd floor.
